GE Interdisciplinary Courses (GEICs)
GEI | General Education Interdisciplinary Courses |
For the GE curriculum from the 2019/20 cohort to the 2024/25 cohort, GE Interdisciplinary Courses (GEICs) are integrated into the GE Breadth Courses and are available to students from Year 2 Semester 2 to Year 3 Semester 1. Students need to complete either a Positive and Values Education (PAVE) Course or GE Breadth Learning Strands 1-3 (GELS-Strands 1-3) or one complete set of the GE Breadth Learning Strands – New Six Arts (GELS-NSA) Courses before taking GEICs (Note: No pre-requisite for Senior Year Entrants). Besides, students only need to take one GEIC, and extra GEIC(s) could not be taken as free elective(s).
Due to the GE curriculum revamp, GEICs will be removed from the GE curriculum for students admitted in the 2025/26 cohort and onwards (i.e., students admitted in the 2024/25 cohort are the last batch of students to take GEICs). The final semester for offering GEICs would be Semester 1, 2026/27. Students who admitted in the 2024/25 cohort or before should complete GEICs by Semester 1, 2026/27.
