Experiential and Service Learning (ESL) is composed of Co-curricular and Service Learning Courses (CSLCs) and Experiential Learning Courses on Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ELCs on E&I).

ELCs on E&I aim to increase students’ awareness of entrepreneurship as a process and strengthen their self-efficacy beliefs and confidence to complete entrepreneurial tasks; provide students with concrete experience for proposal and reflection in “entrepreneurship models/ phases” and/ or “innovation as taking a new approach to solving a problem”; and enable students to initiate/ participate in entrepreneurial value creating process.

For 2025/26 admitted cohort and onwards, students in the 4-year non-BEd FYFD programmes are required to take one 2-cp ELC on E&I to fulfill their requirements in ESL. On the other hand, Senior Year Entrants are required to take one 3-cp ELC on E&I (in which 2 cps are equivalent to E&I and the remaining 1 cp is equivalent to National Security Education (NSE)).
