Welcome to the GEO website. General Education is one of the major components of undergraduate studies at EdUHK. It aims to foster students' development of critical, analytical and creative thinking, communication skills and values analysis through various stages of intellectual progression. To equip students with the knowledge, skills, values and dispositions required for facing the challenges in their academic and professional life, the programme is so designed, starting from the Foundation Course to strengthen our students with the necessary knowledge base and tertiary study skills, through a wide variety of Breadth and Experiential Learning Courses to enrich their experiences and broaden their perspectives, and reaching a finale with a consolidation course to foster critical self-reflection on, and reconceptualization of, learning experiences via the construction of University ePortfolio. Students are advised to familiarize with the intended learning outcomes of different courses and synergize them with the GE intended learning outcomes (GELOs) in order to get the best out of them.
